Currently, the SCAA has three to four exhibitions per year, of which most are non-juried. Meetings are held monthly, and offer a variety of lectures, demonstrations, workshops, a critique night and life drawing. They are also an opportunity to network over coffee and cookies.
In addition, the SCAA sends out regular e-newsletters and information for members about upcoming meetings and events. Those not on e-mail are sent a printout of the e-newsletter.
The website lists upcoming events and gives members an opportunity to showcase their work in the Members’ Gallery.
Adult membership is $30 yearly, and student membership is $15 yearly, from July 1 to June 30.
The St Catharines Art Association is open to all artists, amateur and professional alike, and to anyone with just an interest or love of art. The SCAA is a non-profit organization, entirely self-supporting.
Meetings, open to the public, are held the fourth Tuesday of every month, September through June (except December and January). As of March 2017, the new meeting place is the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canal's Centre at Lock 3-- 1932 Welland Canals Parkway, St. Catharines. Doors open at 6:45 p.m., and the meeting will begin at 7:15 p.m.
