I grew up surrounded by nature, spending much of my childhood exploring the forests, gorge, and countryside near our small village, as well as the woods by my grandparents' home. I feel most at peace in a forest or by the water, and my art is a reflection of that connection to the outdoors.
Working primarily in oils, I focus on landscape painting, often emphasizing the sky. I'm drawn to its ever-changing forms and try to capture its movement and mood in my work. My inspiration comes from local scenery as well as my travels through Europe, Africa, and New Zealand—each place leaving a mark on my artistic vision.
In addition to landscapes, I also enjoy painting portraits of the elderly. I'm fascinated by the stories etched into their expressions and the lines on their faces, and I aim to convey those narratives through my art.
Although I've exhibited my work in Elora, Goderich, and Guelph, I took a step back from painting for several years while raising my family and working with children with special needs. I'm now returning to my first passion—painting—and look forward to sharing this creative journey.
