Kenji Sumbler is an abstract artist from St. Catharines who paints with acrylic on canvas. He is severely autistic and non-verbal, so painting is his primary language and how he connects with the world around him.
His abstract art replaces spoken words with bold colour, thick layers, and heavy textures. Each of his canvases shows his unique sensory experiences and how he feels. By sharing his paintings, he invites people to see the world through his eyes. He is currently growing a supportive community of nearly 3000 art lovers on instagram and continues to create new work from his local home studio.
