Brenda Sauder spent her life as a clothing designer working in the heart of Toronto's fashion district. She started dabbling in watercolours taking classes with master artist " Art Cunanan".
In 2007 she moved to St. Catharines and started working with acrylics. One of her most satisfying endeavours was taking a volunteer position with the SCAA. Working her way through the ranks she became the President.
Some of her greatest accomplishments as president were establishing a show in Toronto, many bus trips to art galleries, landing a three year sponsorship program through Artsvest for 3 multifaceted art shows with Millpond Studios and with the help of many volunteers set up a yearly "Art Lover's Show" at Hernders Estate Winery.
Th Hernder show involved a live auction, silent auction, a huge collection of our members work and a grand evening of music, food and art. The event was a huge success with many sales for the artists and money earned for a newly created scholarship fund.
Brenda has now retired from her business and her position as the President of the SCAA.
She continues to paint and design "one of a kind" upcycled clothing using repurposed fabrics, doilies and embroidered linens.
