The 4th Annual Art Lovers' Affair Show & Sale was held on Fri. Feb. 8 - Sun. Feb. 10, 2019, 10 to 5 pm each day, at Hernder Estate Wines, where our members brought their own style and creativity to this annual event. While the wintry weather was a challenge for setting up the Art Show, it co-operated for the duration of the weekend, and especially for the Evening Gala on Sat. Feb. 9th.
Visitors were treated to complimentary coffee and sweet treats, great raffle prizes, a cozy atmosphere, wine tasting, and best of all...
.... outstanding original art by local artists.
Once again, the Raffle Table was groaning with the many gifts from our generous sponsors, and the food platters, dips, and sweet treats prepared and donated by our many volunteers made the visit that much more enjoyable. special. The ongoing patronage from local businesses helps us give back to the Niagara Community via our Art Education Scholarship Fund.
The highlight of the weekend, the Saturday Evening Gala, was a huge success! Guests were treated to complimentary wine, hot hors d'oeuvres, meat and vegetarian sliders, and a groaning board of delights and treats, not to mention fun raffles and beautiful artwork to peruse by members of the St. Catharines Art Association.
Pete Dychtiar and Rita Carrey of the Peet & Reet Show were our host-and-auctioneer team for the evening's Live Art Auction and Celebration, and together with the smooth sounds of Cory Cruise, the evening pulsed along with laughter, chatter, art appreciation, and sales!
Special thanks to Carlos Garcia (St. Catharines City Councillor), Vance Badawey (MP for Niagara Central), and Daniel Titone (Performance Toyota, Title Sponsor) for their heartfelt and encouraging words to start the evening show.
More importantly, a big thank you goes out to this year's Planning Committee (see the list in the Gallery) and all of the volunteers who donated and devoted so much to help make this show a big success.
Also, thank you to PenFinancial Credit Union (Fourth Ave. Branch) for the use of the Community Room for our many Art Lovers' Affair Show & Sale Planning Committee meetings. Your generosity has gone a long way to support community volunteer groups.
