Monthly Meeting

Tuesday, September 24th 7 p.m. (Membership Renewal desk open 6:30 p.m.)

Last year (2023-2024) was an engaging and inspiring one with a major focus on revitalization which lead to 3 major exhibits and a doubling of SCAA membership. Our goal for this Association year is to expand activities and programs for members leading up to preparations and plans for a 75th Anniversary Year in 2026

While this note is going out to existing members,we are continuing to extend an invitation to returning or prospective members.

We'd like to thank the many members who did early memberships, this aids immeasurably with kicking off with financial commitments. For those who utilize direct etransfer, we have worked with the Credit Union to be a preauthorized recipient. To make things smooth for other members, we will have Membership Renewal desk open at 6:30 p.m. tonight, at this first meeting of the year.

A reminder that all meetings are scheduled at 7 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday of the month, excluding December, July and August when we take vacation time breaks. Yes for those of you who may have noticed, we are trying to add additional programming in January 2025. (More on that as it unfolds!)

We need your participation, your attendance at events, and if possible your contributions to Association activities.

We have been trying a few things that we haven't before, under the banner of "Let's Get in the Game". The first of these was participating in the city of St. Catharines Arts Awards. Since the awards' inception in 2005, more than 80 awards have been presented and we have the impression that this is the first time that as an organization SCAA has participated by nominating members for awards. We nominated 9 members in various categories and will look forward to your suggestions in 2025.

Organizations can also be nominated and we'll be discussing a strategy of potential nomination for SCAA itself in 2026 to coincide with our 75th Anniversary Year. The 2024 St. Catharines Arts Awards will be presented on Nov. 3 at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in the Robertson Theatre.
