March 2025 Meeting - Art Journalling with Christine Royal

St. Catharines Art Association

Come out to the March 25th SCAA meeting to learn about the world-wide creative practice of Art Journalling, and its benefits. Those who would like to, can explore colour in a funky way, and create a tiny zine book. Our presenter is Christine Royal, a local artist who facilitates creative exploration through art journalling classes.

For the past eleven years, Christine has opened the door for beginning and seasoned artists alike to access personal insights and their creative voice through process and experimentation. Christine's 25 years of experience as a registered psychotherapist, and recent training as a forest therapy guide informs her teaching style, which encourages participants to break through creative blocks.

Art journalling is an accessible format to explore art techniques and yourself using numerous mediums by layering anything and everything - from collage, to paint, to writing, to stencilling, to drawing, and on and on - all between a front and back cover.

Through the years, students have confirmed what Christine has personally discovered, that art journalling is a practice where creatives experience inspiration, peace, deeper self-awareness, free expression, and healing.
