We have 2 mailing lists, one for those who are existing members and the other is a general mailing list for those who have previously been members and we'd like to invite back. It also includes "Arts" folks that we've come in contact with.
This is going to be a combined memo, so everyone knows what's happening.

First to our general list recipients, we hope we might attract you back.
2026 will be a major milestone for the St. Catharines Art Association, it is our 75th Anniversary. SCAA Board member, Dr. Chandi Jayawardena has been hard at work in developing an extensive list of locations and defined Exhibit dates for SCAA members to show their work publicly during 2026. For many of these locations there will be test runs in 2025. We hope you'll either return to membership or join us for this outstanding opportunity.
Later in this note we'll have details of our January 28, 2025 members meeting.
We'll have a membership table set up to help folks join in!
If you prefer to not receive these occasional newsletters let us know at

January 28, 2025 SCAA Member Meeting 7 p.m.
SCAA Board Member NANCY HASKELL has been championing a trial extension of our SCAA Meeting schedule to include January, 2025.
This should be a fun meeting titled:
DRAWING IS THE BASIS OF ALL OUR ART
presented by Peter Malaguti, who has been a 35 year commercial artist, and has produced some amazing art, for anyone who has caught a glimpse of his sketch book. In recent times Pete has been teaching art courses at the Pumphouse Art Centre in NotL and the Riverbrink Art Museum in Queenston.
Pete's thoughts in preparation:
"I love to watch a talented artist draw. To see how they communicate what they see, into a painted piece of Art.
I'm gonna show you some of my drawings and then just draw from Photos and from my Mind's Eye.
From Portraits, to Life Drawings ( Nudes ), Doodles and Landscapes. From the quick Pen sketch to a final Watercolour.
I love to Draw and I know you'll be inspired to get better at it too."
You can have a look at Pete's backgrounds in our Member pages and his own website at Peter Malaguti.
The closing line in his website is:
LET'S MAKE ART AND HAVE FUN!
We are extending this invitation to Existing SCAA members, but also to those who were previous members, who we hope to see again soon. There are also artists who we have come in contact with, who we occasionally send a "Welcome" note to as well.
