"A Time when Men were Men, and Women were Rugs," is a collage series that explores the idea of matrescence, the shift of identity that occurs when a woman/ birthing partner becomes a primary caretaker. As a new parent, Wunderink implements themes of the domestic sphere, and idealized motherhood by weaving women into household objects, food and other domestic items.
