2026 Art Scholarships Announcement - November 2, 2025
For the 2025–2026 school year, the St. Catharines Art Association (SCAA) is pleased to continue its commitment to supporting young artists by awarding scholarships to outstanding high school visual arts students in our community. The goal of our annual scholarship program is to foster artistic expression, creativity, and excellence among emerging visual artists in the Niagara region.
The SCAA invites students from Niagara region secondary schools to apply for three SCAA Art Scholarships. In addition to an official SCAA Certificate and a complimentary 2026– 2027 SCAA membership, the three winners will receive the following awards:
• $300 – Outstanding Achievement Scholarship
• $200 – First Runner-up Scholarship
• $100 – Second Runner-up Scholarship
Each participating school is invited to nominate one visual arts student who meets the following SCAA scholarship criteria:
• A deserving student in good standing
• A minimum grade of 70% or higher in a senior visual arts course
• Intending to pursue a post-secondary program in visual arts at a college or university
• Has submitted an artist portfolio.
Key Dates:
• November 14, 2025 – Announcement. The 2026 SCAA Art Scholarship Application Form will be sent to participating schools. Only complete applications, including the artist portfolio, submitted to scholarshipsscaa@gmail.com will be accepted.
• December 15, 2025 – Confirmation Deadline. From schools/teachers.
• April 3, 2026 – Application Deadline. Judging by a panel of esteemed artists and visual art educators will begin.
• April 28, 2026 – Awards Ceremony. Winners will be announced and recognized at the SCAA Monthly Meeting, held at Trillium United Church, 415 Linwell Rd., St. Catharines, Ontario. All three award recipients and up to two guests each are warmly invited to attend.
