For the school year of 2024/2025, the St. Catharines Art Association (SCAA) is pleased to continue its intention to award art scholarships to outstanding high school visual arts students in our community. The goal of our annual scholarship program is to foster artistic expression in emerging artists and encourage their pursuit of excellence in visual arts.

SCAA is inviting students from each of the eight St. Catharines Secondary Schools to participate and be considered for up to four SCAA Art Scholarships. SCAA will endeavour to select recipients to award:
• three $100 scholarships for Honourable Mentions; and
• one $200 scholarship for Outstanding Achievement.

Each participating school is asked to nominate one visual arts student for the school, who fulfils all of the following scholarship criteria set by SCAA:
• deserving student in good standing;
• minimum 70% in a senior visual art course;
• pursuing a post-secondary college/university visual arts program; and
• presented an artist portfolio that exemplifies community and artistic merit.

The key dates applicable to all nominees are as follows:

April 3rd, 2025 – Application Deadline. The '2025 SCAA Art Scholarships Application Form' will be sent to participating schools individually. Only complete applications with artist portfolios submitted on time to 'scaaartscholarship@gmail.com' will be accepted.

April 22nd, 2025 - Awards Ceremony. It will take place during SCAA's Monthly Meeting (Trillium United Church; 415 Linwell Rd., St. Catharines, ON). All nominees are invited to attend and will receive a 2025/2026 SCAA Membership for their participation.
