Joyce Pearce - Artist
Born and raised in St. Catharines, she has always had a lifelong love of just being creative in whatever endeavour she aspired to do, be it cooking, floral design, gardening and most important of all, oil painting. She has raised a son and two daughters, and has three granddaughters and one great granddaughter. All of her children are just as creative as their mother. They also paint plus design and make jewelry. She has been a painter since her thirties, and taught oil painting classes in her home for about ten years. She stopped when she entered into a successful37 year real estate career. She retired in 2006 and joyfully resumed painting with both of her daughters, and recently her son who has taken up watercolours . Her favourite technique is using a palette knife with lots of varying colours.
She has been an active member of her church for the past sixty years, cooking many banquet dinners and actively sat on the Board of the church for 50 years which she was recently recognized for in the Niagara Anglican Journal. She was awarded the Order of Niagara designation by the Bishop of Niagara in recognition of her service to the church. She's also an avid lawn bowler, and her team won the Masters Tournament in lawn bowling multiple times.
Painting has been a joy in her life since retirement and sharing this passion with her children enhances this joy.
