Pam Duncan

Member of St. Catharine’s Art Association and Visual Artists of Welland Co-Founder. Recipient of 2019 MP’s Citizen of the Year Award for Arts and Culture.
Native of Welland, Pam has always been an Artist, but did not pursue it as a profession, instead spending her working life in various community service positions. She continued to paint and often hung watercolours in the office and to her delight they frequently sold to clients who viewed them while conducting business.
When Pam retired in 2016, she was encouraged to bring her talent out of hiding and began exhibiting at several local venues with good success. These included the 2017, 2018 and 2019 South Niagara Artist’s Studio Tours, Port Colborne 2018 & 2019 Art Crawls, and 2017, 2018 and 2019 Rose Festival Art Shows (second place in 2018). In 2019 she entered the Crystal Beach Circle of Art and captured 3rd place for artists division at the show. Pam also accepts commissions and sells her work to individual collectors.
One passion of this artists is to donate paontings to causes, in order to assist them in raising funds. Work has therefore been given to Shoppers Drug Mart and CIBC Seaway Mall to be raffled off in support of the Mental Health Association and Breast Cancer research in recent years. In addition she donated a painting to the 9th Welland Boy Scouts for a raffle to assist in raising funding for the group, and also to Epilepsy Niagara for a past Spring Art draw to assist them in raising much needed funds. This year- Cops for Cancer Ride through the Hamilton branch of the RCMP was added to the list of recipients.
Her work is wide and varied in nature. Watercolours, oils, acrylics, pen and ink, pastels and charcoal are all within the scope of Pam’s portfolio. Paintings tend to the realistic rather than abstract but she has great admiration for all artforms.
For many years it has been a dream to help establish an arts identity in Welland, her hometown. Visual Artists of Welland is the culmination of that dream, and with the support and assistance of our wonderful creative community it will continue to grow and thrive.
