The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre is looking for artists to submit their artwork for the Niagara Pumphouse Fundraising Art Auction taking place on August 17-31, 2020.
Artists have the option to help this fundraising initiative in 2 ways:
OPTION 1: Donate an artwork for the auction and receive a charitable tax receipt for 100% of the auction sale price;
OPTION 2: Submit artwork for the auction and split the auction sale price 50%/50% with the Pumphouse.
ELIGIBILITY & SUBMISSION CRITERIA
Submissions are open to all practising artists in Ontario.
Only original artwork by the artist making the submission will be accepted. Submitted works must have been created within the last 3 years. No giclee prints or prints on canvas allowed.
Maximum 2 submissions per artist.
Artworks can be in a variety of mediums, such as drawing, pastel, watercolour, acrylic, oil, woodblock or linocut prints, or mixed media; fine art photography; sculpture; pottery; and stained glass.
All 2D artworks must be ready to hang, with hanging wire attached.
Maximum size of artworks: 3 feet by 4 feet (36 X 48 inches). Sculptural pieces shall weigh no more than 30 lbs.
The minimum value of artwork accepted is $100 (CDN). Artists are urged to set a realistic price for their artwork, taking into account what they normally would sell the work for. The Pumphouse reserves the right to review the price and may reject an artwork with an artificially high price. NOTE: The Pumphouse will set a reserve price of 70% of the value to start the bidding.
Five (5) good quality digital photos of the artwork, including the work in its frame, the overall artwork, and closeups of the signature and several other areas. Images should be a minimum 1MB and maximum 2MB in size. The Pumphouse may use photos of submitted artwork to promote the art auction.
